Car A/C Condenser
If you have noticed that the air conditioning in your car is not functioning properly, then it may be time to think about replacing the air conditioning condenser in your car. Here are the steps that you need to take in order to chance a car A/C condenser.
The first thing that you are going to need to do is to make sure that you have all of the equipment that you will need in order to chance you’re A/C condenser. The first thing that you need to have is the actual A/C condenser. You can either buy a brand new one, or a used one. As long as it works it doesn’t really matter. The next thing that you will need is an A/C receiver/dryer. You will then need to get some gaskets. As well as this, you will need an A/C Manifold Gauge set. Next, you will need a vacuum pump, and some refrigerant oil. Finally, you need to get the tools that you would usually use for cars, including screwdrivers and a ratchet.
Now you are ready to start. The first thing that you need to do is check for any existing pressure. Do this by lifting the hood of your vehicle, and hang the gauge from the hood latch itself. You then need to make sure that all valves are closed. Next, you are ready to plug the gauge in. plug the low side into the low port, if you see that it is showing pressure then you are going to need to take it to a professional as it will need to be evacuated. If the gauge shows vacuum then there may not be any serious leaks, so just use the refrigerant that you already have.
After you have done all of this, you are ready for the next step. You should place the front wheels of your car onto two ramps. You will need to do this in order to be able to proceed. You then need to remove the bumper on your car. The method of doing this will vary from vehicle to vehicle, so make sure you know how to do this properly. After this, you need to remove the brake ducts that are attached to the bumper, remove the fog lights, remove one screw on each side of the front wheels, and this will enable you to remove the bumper completely.
The next step is to remove the plastic shroud that is covering the radiator on your car. After this, remove the A/C lines that are usually found to the left of the condenser itself. Once you have done this you should be able to remove the condenser itself. It is then time to place the new gaskets onto the car. Once you have done this, you should be able to re attach your new A/C condenser.
