<description>I had an encounter with a South Korean bus Hyundai H1. I just serviced it and in less than 2 kilometers, the engine knock due to oil pump failure. In the fleet of 300 buses, at the moment we have 80 buses with engine failure issue due to oil pump failure.
Can the property of the metals used in the manufacturing of the oil pump constitute to their failure?
Please I need better understanding of this.
Thanks

<description>I recently bought a 4 yr old vivaro van from a dealership and 5 wks later the oil pump failed and ruined the engine, the oil levels were maintained correctly and this was verified at the time of breakdown by the rac - the garage in question are trying to blame me and not fulfill their obligations, is there anywhere i can get information to back up the fact that the oil pump must have been faulty at purchase.
regards
