Suspension Lift Kits

Suspension lift kits are the most economical and straight forward way to raise a vehicle above the wheels and get the "lifted" look that so many people are crazy about. This is something that is done on more and more cars today either for functionality or just because the owner of the vehicle likes the look of a lifted car. A suspension lift kit gives you all of the parts that you need to make the lift possible.

Suspension lift kits are usually an intricate system of springs that work to raise the vehicle up by suspending the framed of the vehicle, the body, engine, and even the power train above the wheels. When you use a suspension lift kit you are guaranteeing a much smoother ride because the springs absorb most of the jarring that comes from bumps in the road or uneven driving surfaces. It is the system of springs that works to absorb the shock of these bumps in the road, making your lifted ride much more enjoyable for the driver as well as the passengers.

Many people consider suspension lift kids optional, but they really shouldn't be considered in this way. Instead, everyone who wants to give their vehicle that lifted, macho look should use one of these kits. The reason for this is that it is the wheels of any vehicle that keep the car on the road as well as to help it accelerate, turn, stop, and simply steer the vehicle in the right direction. When a suspension lift kit is not used the wheels may not stay in contact with the driving surface, which for obvious reasons could be quite dangerous.

When you begin shopping for suspension lift kits you will find that there are many, many to choose from. You will need to look for suspension lift kits that were made for your specific type of vehicle. Not only will you want to look for the kit that was made for your Jeep, van, car, or truck you will also want to look for the kit that was meant for the make and model of your vehicle. Some suspension lift kits can be fitted to a variety of different makes and models, but you want to be sure to check on this before you assume that any one kit will work well for you. Remember that you need to be thinking of safety when you buy, not just the overall look of a lifted vehicle.

There are many different brand names that offer suspension lift kits. Some of the biggest names in the business include brands such as Air Lift, Black Diamond, Calmini, Fbatech, Full Traction, Rancho, Tuff Company, Skyjacker, Superlift, Trailmaster, and Kelderman. This is by no means an exhaustive list of all of the manufacturers that provide suspension lift kits, but it gives you an idea of some of the brand names that you may be seeing when you begin shopping.

There are a lot of different places where you can get suspension lift kits. You don't have to simply go to your auto store at the end of the block, instead you should actually visit a few different places before you buy. This will allow you to get a good idea of what is out there for you to purchase and it will also allow you to price shop. When you price shop you may be able to find some good deals that will allow you to lift your vehicle without going broke! You will find that there are not only local outlets for you to shop with, but also many different online outlets as well.

  1. Good afternoon,
    I am soliciting information and approximate cost to raise a 2008, 4X4, Ford Expedition chassis aproximately 5' above the ground. Please provide approximate cost for the following;
    a. Lift kit & Installation
    b. Wheels and tires
    c. etc.
    I have six Expeditions in which I am modifying to allow for the traverse in high water (4-6 ft.). These are emergency response vehicles employed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
    I envision lifting these vehicles utilizing both a lift kit and installing larger wheels and tires.
